Check the Red Rocket Truck Stop if you haven't already. That's where Dogmeat is originally found, and sometimes he returns there if you lose him. Also, make sure to check around, as he might be stuck behind something or fighting enemies.

lol, just spam the 'call Dogmeat' button... JK, there isn't one. But seriously, build the bell in your settlement that gathers all your companions. Ring it and wait a few in-game hours. If Dogmeat's not off on a secret dog mission, he'll show up.
First off, don't panic! If you've lost Dogmeat, the first place to check is one of your settlements. He often returns to the last settlement you assigned him to. If that doesn't do the trick, build a Doghouse in your settlement and wait a bit. Dogmeat loves those and often shows up there eventually.
I actually lost Dogmeat once and found him chilling in Sanctuary Hills after I slept for 24 hours in the game. So maybe give that a try? Beds are not just for decoration, folks!
