Go to the Facebook app, tap on the three horizontal lines (menu), scroll to find 'Friends', and then tap 'Contacts'. There, you can upload your phone contacts to find your friends!
I've done this so many times. All you need to do is sync your contacts under 'Find Friends' and let Facebook do its magic!
