Look near bodies of water like lakes and rivers. Magikarp love water, and where there are Magikarp, a Gyarados might not be too far behind!

Easiest way to get Gyarados? Start with a Magikarp and evolve it. You need 400 Magikarp candies鈥攂etter get catching!

Keep an eye out for Water-type events or special in-game events. They often increase the spawn rate of Magikarp, and sometimes you'll even spot a wild Gyarados!

I've caught Gyarados in the wild during special events. Just stay updated on upcoming events and be ready to play!

If you're a Pokemon GO! player looking for extra PokeCoins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Pokemon GO! essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
