Personal experience here: I always find a ton of magnetite around the Sparse Reef. Just bring your scanner!

Head to the Jellyshroom Cave or the Mountains biome! Dive deep and use a Seamoth or Prawn Suit for best results. Happy hunting!

Pro tip: Mountains biome is the best, but beware - the Reaper Leviathans there aren't exactly friendly.
