If you think looking at details is too much, just buy from an official retailer or the Pokemon website. Can't go wrong there.

Just weigh it. Fakes often lighter or heavier than the legit cards. Also, flip it over and look at the back. If the blue pattern doesn't match up to a card you know is real, it's a fake.

First off, check the card's texture and weight. Real Pokemon cards have a specific smooth feel and are pretty sturdy. The colors should be vibrant, not dull. Another big giveaway is the font and alignment of text; it should be crisp and properly centered. And don't forget the holographic cards - if the holo looks cheap, it's probably a fake.

Honestly, the easiest way might just be to use a magnifying glass and look at the printing dots. Real cards have a consistent pattern that fakes usually can't replicate.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
