From experience, the search bar is your best friend. Just type their name, click on their profile, and you're good to go.
Honestly, just ask them for their username and then search it directly. Less hassle!
Search for them using their username or display name in the search bar, then click 'Add Friend'.
I always use the friends list or check my recent players list after a game. Works like a charm!
