It’s super easy! The atomic number of an element is the number of protons it has. Just look for the number at the top of the element's box on the Periodic Table.

You can find the number of protons by checking the atomic number above the chemical symbol of the element. For example, Hydrogen (H) has an atomic number of 1, so it has 1 proton!
