Honestly, just make sure you're deep enough in the Corruption or Crimson. No need to overcomplicate things.

Easy peasy! To find Souls of Night in Terraria, you gotta head to the underground Corruption or Crimson biomes. Make sure you're deep enough where the background changes, that's how you know you're in the right spot. Then, just defeat enemies in that area. Most of them have a chance to drop Souls of Night. Just gear up and get ready for some farming!

Underground Corruption or Crimson, after you smash a Demon/Crimson Altar with the Pwnhammer. Monsters start dropping them like candy on Halloween. Well, if candy was a spooky soul used for crafting.

I've been farming Souls of Night for ages and the best tip is: patience. Make a good arena, get some battle potions and water candles to increase spawn rates, and have at it. The Souls will come.
