Finding sword shrines in Terraria 1.4 is all about knowing where to look! The best chance to find them is in the outer thirds of the world, above the underground layer but below the surface. Look for 1-block-wide paths leading down through the dirt and stone. These paths often lead directly to a sword shrine. Make sure to bring a decent pickaxe to break through any blocks in your way and maybe a spelunker potion to help see treasure a bit easier!

Quick tip: Use a map viewer if you're really stuck. It feels a bit like cheating, but if you've searched high and low with no luck, a map viewer can pinpoint exactly where those elusive sword shrines are hiding.
