Finding the Skeleton Merchant in Terraria can be a bit of a hide and seek game since he spawns randomly in the Cavern layer. The best strategy? Roam around the Caverns and keep an eye out - he could pop up anywhere, anytime between 4:30 AM and 12:00 AM in-game time. Lighting up the caverns with torches and using a Hunter Potion can make spotting him a bit easier. Remember, he moves around, so don’t wait in one spot!

Hot take: Don’t stress about finding the Skeleton Merchant. Focus on your game, and you’ll bump into him when you least expect it. He’s like that friend who shows up unannounced!

I literally found the Skeleton Merchant by accident while mining for ores. It’s all about luck and keeping those tunnels well-lit. Also, try logging in at different times. He's got a schedule as random as my cat's mood swings.
