Pro tip: You don’t really “find” the Tavernkeep; he finds you. Just make sure you've defeated the right boss, and he’ll pop up eventually. Checking the forest biomes regularly helps!
The Tavernkeep in Terraria is a bit of a wandering soul, so to find him, you’ll need some patience. After defeating the Eater of Worlds or the Brain of Cthulhu for the first time, he’ll randomly spawn in your world, lying on the ground like he’s had a bit too much fun. You’ll typically find him in the forest biome during the day. Just stroll around the forest areas, and keep your eyes peeled for a dude just lying there waiting for you to wake him up with a click.
Honestly, just roam around like you own the place after beating one of the big baddies. He'll show up when he's good and ready. It's less of a 'finding him' and more of a 'bumping into him'.
