Use the 'Friends' tab in the Roblox app. Go to the top right, click on the friends icon, and search their username. Easy peasy!
Just stalk their profile, add them as a friend, and then join their game from the 'Friends' tab. Works every time.
Honestly, just ask them for their exact username. Saves you a lot of headache scrolling through random profiles.
