If resetting it doesn't work, check for any debris in the buttons and clean them with a soft cloth. Make sure the contacts aren't dirty!

As someone who's fixed a few, I recommend checking the battery connections for corrosion. Clean them carefully with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab.
