First, get onboard the derelict ship and find the ship's control panel. You can typically repair critical systems using resources you've collected. Just make sure you've got enough parts and materials!

You can fix derelict ships in Starfield by accessing the engineering menu. Once there, use your collected resources to perform repairs. Easy peasy!

Actually did this yesterday! Go inside the derelict ship and find the main console. The repair function should pop up if you have the necessary resources. Good luck, space explorer!

Honestly, sometimes it's just easier to scrap the derelict ship for parts and upgrade your main one. Unless it's a ship you absolutely love, why bother?
