How to fix Fallout 4 black screen
HouselingMoon路8 months agoLol, been there! Most times, it's just your graphics settings throwing a tantrum. Try running the game in Windowed Mode instead of Fullscreen. You can do this by going to the game's video settings. Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, it's just a matter of telling your PC to get its act together.

A quick fix? Disable your antivirus temporarily or add Fallout 4 as an exception. Some antiviruses get too excited and block the game, thinking it's a threat. Make sure to re-enable it after you're done playing, though!
Just reinstall the game. Worked for me!
Just verify the game files integrity on Steam. Right-click Fallout 4 in your Steam library, go to Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files. This has fixed it for me more than once!
Ran into this annoying issue myself! First, try running the game in Windowed Mode instead of Fullscreen. You can change this in the game's settings or edit the Fallout4Prefs.ini file in your Documents. If that doesn't sort it, update your graphics drivers, they can often be the culprit. Lastly, disable any mods you've got running one by one to see if one of them is causing the problem. Mods can mess things up big time!
