First, try a different HDMI cable and make sure it's securely connected. If that doesn't work, try resetting the PS3's display settings by holding the power button for about 5 seconds until you hear a beep, then it will reset to default settings.

I had the same issue! Turn off your PS3, hold down the power button until you hear a second beep, and it should automatically detect the HDMI connection. Worked like a charm for me.

Sometimes dust and debris can cause a poor connection. Use a can of compressed air to gently clean out the HDMI port.
