Check your HDMI cable connections. A loose cable can cause a black screen issue. Try using a different HDMI port or cable.
Try ejecting the game disc, cleaning it gently, then reinserting it. Still black? Restart your PS3 by holding the power button until it beeps twice.
It might be the game itself. Try playing another game to see if it runs fine. If other games run smoothly, the black screen might be specific to the game disc.
Unplug your PS3, wait for about 5 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. Sometimes a hard reset works wonders.
