How to Fix PS3 USB Port
Sometimes a simple restart can do wonders! Turn off your PS3, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, you might need to open it up and check the connections or replace the port itself.

I had a similar issue. Checked the port for dust or debris first. A can of compressed air worked wonders. If it's still not working, you might need to resolder the USB port or replace the motherboard.
Try using a different USB cable or device to make sure the problem is the port and not your accessory. If it's definitely the port, you might need some DIY skills or professional help to replace it.
Just get a new PS3. It's ancient tech now anyway.
