First, give the disc a good clean! Sometimes a simple wipe with a microfiber cloth does wonders. Make sure it's clean and free of smudges or scratches.

Rebuild your PS4 database by starting your console in Safe Mode and selecting 'Rebuild Database'. It can resolve many issues, including disc recognition problems.

I had this issue, and resetting the PS4 by completely turning it off (not rest mode) and unplugging it for a few minutes actually helped!

Hot take: If nothing works, your PS4's disc drive might need a professional checkup. Sometimes hardware issues require more than a DIY approach.

Try a different game disc to see if it's just that one disc being tricky. If other discs work fine, it might be a problem with the specific disc.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
