If restarting doesn't work, clear your cache. On PC, you can do this via Steam or the Microsoft Store. On Xbox, go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address > Clear, then restart.
I've encountered Code 6 before. I fixed it by verifying my game files on Steam. Go to your Library, right-click State of Decay 2, select Properties, and then Local Files. Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Files'.
Just uninstall and reinstall the game. Yeah, it's a pain, but it might do the trick!
