Try updating your graphics drivers. Outdated drivers can cause all sorts of problems, including TF2 crashing at startup.

Make sure all other programs are closed before starting TF2. Sometimes, other software conflicts with the game.

Delete the 'cfg' folder in your TF2 directory. This will reset your in-game settings, which can sometimes fix crashing issues.

Start by verifying the integrity of the game files in Steam. Just right-click on TF2 in your library, go to 'Properties,' then 'Local Files,' and click 'Verify Integrity of Game Files.' This fixes a lot of issues!

Just reinstall the game. Sometimes, a fresh install is the easiest way to solve the problem if nothing else works.
