How to Fix the Xbox One Black Screen of Death?
ComposingGuru·6 months agoTurn off the console, then unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in. If that doesn’t work, it might be time for a factory reset (hold down the Bind and Eject buttons then press Power).

Just press and hold the power button until the console shuts off (takes about 10 seconds), unplug it, wait, and then plug it back in. Usually works!
Had this problem last week. A hard reset did the trick for me: held power button for 10 sec, unplugged for 30 sec, then powered back on. Came back to life!
Honestly, sometimes it’s faster to just perform an offline system update using a USB drive. Takes a bit of setup but can solve deep issues.
First, try the classic fix: power cycle your Xbox One. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds until it shuts off, then unplug it for a few minutes. Plug it back in and power it on. Magic!
