You gotta delete the save data manually. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.tobyfox.undertale and wipe it. Fresh game, fresh start.
From a fellow Undertale player, I also had to clear my save files once. Just go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.tobyfox.undertale and delete everything inside. Then reinstall the game, and you're golden!
