A quick trick: update your PS4's system software. An outdated system can sometimes mess with disc recognition. No need to be Sherlock Holmes for this one!

Sorry to say it, but if cleaning and updating didn鈥檛 work, your disc drive might be toast. Time for a repair shop or contacting Sony support.

First, try cleaning the disc with a soft, lint-free cloth. Sometimes it's just a bit of dirt or smudge causing the problem. If that doesn't work, try restarting your PS4 and see if it recognizes the disc after a reboot.

If your PS4 doesn鈥檛 recognize any disc, try entering Safe Mode and rebuilding the database. That can resolve a lot of weird software quirks!

Had the same issue, turned out to be a faulty disc drive. Got it fixed, and all my games started working again like magic!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
