Install the Unofficial Patch! Seriously, it's like a miracle cure. Just download and install it from [Patches Scrolls](https://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/4647/7/72104). It fixes tons of bugs and makes the game a much smoother experience!

Use the Unofficial Patch. It’s essential for a stable game on modern systems. Also, try running the game as an admin and in compatibility mode.

My personal experience: I had to run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and disable Steam overlay. Worked like a charm!

Disable antivirus and firewall temporarily. Sometimes they mess with the game’s files. Just remember to turn them back on!

Honestly, just buy the game on GOG. Steam version is a nightmare to fix.
