Best trick I’ve found is the “hair dryer method.” Point a hair dryer at the back vents for 15-20 minutes with the PS3 standing up. Sounds nuts, but it might just reflow the solder enough to get you back in action. Just don’t expect it to be a permanent fix!

Honestly, there isn't a reliable way to fix YLOD on a fat PS3 without opening it. If you’re really attached, consider professional repairs or investing in a new console.
