Honestly, it's all about the numpad for that true control. Numpad 8 and 5 are your main tools for diving and climbing. And don't forget, A and D are your friends for making those sharp turns without losing your cool. Just take it slow, no need to rush the skies.

Flying a helicopter in GTA 5 using your keyboard is pretty simple! Just remember: W to increase altitude (go up), S to decrease altitude (go down), Numpad 8 to pitch forward, Numpad 5 to pitch backward, A to turn left, D to turn right, and Numpad 4 and Numpad 6 to roll left or right respectively. To take off, gently tap W and start maneuvering with the other keys. Practice makes perfect, so don't worry if you crash a few times while getting the hang of it!

Hot take: flying helicopters in GTA 5 is easier with a controller. The keyboard feels clunky in comparison.

Pro tip: remap your controls if the defaults feel awkward! GTA 5's settings let you customize to whatever fits your flying style best. I switched a few keys around, and it made piloting way smoother for me.
