To format an SD card on your Steam Deck in desktop mode, first, switch your Steam Deck to desktop mode by pressing the Steam button, selecting 'Power', and then 'Switch to Desktop'. Once in desktop mode, plug in your SD card. Open the 'Disks' application from the applications menu. Find your SD card in the left panel, select it, then click the gear icon and choose 'Format Partition'. Make sure to back up any important data before formatting because this will erase all data on the SD card!

Just boot into desktop mode, use the Disks app to format. Easy peasy.

Honestly, why bother? Just use it as is. Formatting is overrated unless you're having issues.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
