To format your Steam Deck, you basically start by powering it off completely. Then, hold down the Volume Down button while pressing the power button until the Steam logo pops up. From there, you'll enter the Recovery menu, select 'Reformat the device,' and then 'Erase all user data and reset your device.' Just make sure to back up any data you don't wanna lose, cause this process will wipe it clean!

Quick take: Honestly, just hit up YouTube for a video guide. It鈥檚 way easier to follow than reading through instructions.

FYI, I formatted my Steam Deck last week. It's straightforward but kinda anxiety-inducing with the whole wiping data thing. Definitely back up your games and saves to the cloud or an external drive first. The clean slate was worth it for me鈥攆eels like a brand new device.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
