Look at the bottom-right corner of the game window. Click the icon that looks like a screen with arrows pointing outward.
You can also go to the menu in-game by pressing 'Esc' and then selecting 'Fullscreen' from the options there.
Seriously, just use Command + Control + F. Who needs complicated steps?
From experience, pressing the green maximize button on the top left of the window gets you to fullscreen too.
