Short and sweet: Farm unicorns in the Hallow. Drop rates can be tough, but keep at it!
Just buy it from another player, lol. Grinding for drops is so 2011.
So, from personal experience, the Blessed Apple took forever to drop for me. I must've defeated like 50 unicorns in the Hallow. But let me tell you, once you get that mount, zooming around Terraria is so much fun. Definitely worth the grind.
