Well, finding a Chest Statue in Terraria is a matter of luck and exploration. You can't craft one, so you'll need to go spelunking in the underground and cavern layers. Keep an eye out in the underground houses or structures; these places have a higher chance of spawning chest statues among other decorative items. Don't forget to bring plenty of torches and maybe a spelunker potion to make your treasure hunt a bit easier!

Chest Statues? Just smash pots and open every chest you find; you're bound to run into one eventually. Or not. It's all RNG.

I found mine while I wasn't even looking for it, just digging through a spider cave. So, my advice? Just explore everywhere, the more ground you cover, the higher your chances. Happy hunting!
