Catching a dab in Animal Crossing is pretty straightforward! Just head to the ocean with your fishing rod. Dabs are available all day, every day, year-round (at least in New Horizons). Look for a medium-sized fish shadow and start fishing. Who knows, you might get a dab on your first try!

Actually, dabs are seasonal in some Animal Crossing games. In New Leaf, for example, they're available from October to April. So, if you're playing an earlier version, make sure you're fishing during those months.
