Actually, getting a dog in GTA 5 isn't like your typical pet shop visit. You're kinda stuck with Chop, Franklin's dog. Think of him as a special feature rather than an option. Take good care of him, and you'll have a loyal buddy throughout your GTA adventures!

Want a dog in GTA V? You got Chop and that's pretty much it. But hey, he's a cool dog!

So, you wanna get a pup in GTA V? Easy peasy! Franklin's got a Rottweiler named Chop you can hang with. You can't just get any dog off the street though. Chop's your main canine bud - take him on walks, play fetch, or train him to be the goodest boy in Los Santos. Also, watch out for those random stray dogs; you can't adopt 'em, but they add some cool vibes to the game.

Fun fact: Tried to adopt another dog in GTA V for like hours once. Spoiler: doesn't work. Chop is the only doggo you get, but he's all the dog you need.
