Getting a Flamethrower in Terraria is pretty straightforward but requires some commitment. First off, you gotta beat the Wall of Flesh to get your game into Hardmode. Once you're there, start hunting down those pesky Clowns during a Blood Moon in the Hardmode. They have a chance to drop the Bananas, which are key. Then, gather 20 Souls of Fright by defeating Skeleton Primes. After that, it's a matter of combining the Bananas with 20 Souls of Fright and 20 Iron or Lead Bars at an Iron or Lead Anvil. Boom! Flamethrower is yours.

Honestly, Flamethrowers are overrated. Try magic or summoning for a real challenge.

Just grind, my friend. Wall of Flesh, then Clowns for the Bananas, Skeleton Prime for Souls of Fright, and don't forget your Iron or Lead Bars. Anvil them all together.
