Easiest way? Wait for it to rain. Snapping turtles love coming out in the rain for whatever reason. Hit the rivers after 9 PM and fish any big shadows. Caught mine during a downpour!

Honestly, getting a snapping turtle is overhyped. Just grab any fish that's worth more bells.

Catching a snapping turtle in Animal Crossing is all about timing and patience! First off, you'll wanna make sure it's the right season. Snapping turtles are available in the game from April to October (for Northern Hemisphere players) and from October to April (for Southern Hemisphere players). You gotta fish for them during the evening and night time, from 9 PM to 4 AM in your game's river. So, grab your fishing rod, head to the river, and keep an eye out for a large shadow in the water. Those guys can be elusive, but keep at it!

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
