Just swim lol. Seriously though, besides using a Vaulting Pole for rivers, you can wear a wetsuit to swim in the ocean around your island. Buy a wetsuit at Nook's Cranny or through your Nook Stop terminal. Summer update introduced this, so enjoy the water!

To cross water in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you gotta get yourself a Vaulting Pole! You can craft one by getting the DIY recipe from Blathers when he arrives on your island. Just collect some softwood by hitting trees with your flimsy or stone axe, and you're good to go for some pole-vaulting action across rivers!

Vaulting Pole for rivers, ladders for cliffs. That's your island exploration kit in a nutshell. No need to complicate things.

Honestly, just build a bridge. It's way classier than hopping around with a stick.

If you're an Animal Crossing player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Nintendo eShop gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
