How to Get Adamantite in Terraria
First off, you gotta unlock Hardmode by defeating the Wall of Flesh boss in the Underworld. After that, smashing at least three of those Pwnhammer-worthy Demon/Crimson Altars should spawn Adamantite Ore in your world. But remember, it's rare, so keep your eyes peeled when you're mining deep underground.

Honestly, Adamantite? Overrated. Titanium all the way if your world spawns it. Less hassle, better defense.
Pro tip: Get yourself a Mythril or an Orichalcum Drill/Anvil to mine Adamantite Ore. Can't do it with your basic pre-Hardmode gear, trust me. Once you've got enough ore and smelted it into bars, you're all set to craft some of the toughest gear in the game.
