Just buy 'em if you can! Sometimes it鈥檚 easier to just take the shortcut and get what you want.
Use the in-game store to purchase items directly, or get involved in trading sites where you can exchange Metal for specific items you want.
From my experience, joining active communities and trading groups greatly helps. I got my unusual hat thanks to some awesome trades!
