Not worth it, just focus on upgrading your clones first.
You gotta buy the Basement Blueprint in the store for 10,000 Cash. Once you've got it, head to your base and click the green 'Build' button to place it.
You get the basement by purchasing the Basement Blueprint for 10,000 Cash from the in-game store. After that, it's all green buttons and clicking!
I remember getting it by saving up 10,000 Cash and buying the Basement Blueprint from the store. Totally worth the grind!
