Honestly, just play through Subspace Emissary. You get nearly all the characters without needing to stress about specific conditions.

Easiest way is to play the Subspace Emissary, where you'll naturally unlock almost everyone. For the rest, just keep brawling and defeating challengers!

For a quick unlock, you can do 10-minute Brawls over and over. You'll end up facing the challengers after every few matches.

From experience, the Subspace Emissary is the most straightforward way to unlock a lot of the characters. Plus, it's super fun!

You can unlock most characters in Brawl by playing through the Subspace Emissary adventure mode, or you can fight a set number of Brawls. Either way, you'll have to defeat each character in a one-on-one match to officially add them to your roster.
