Getting desktop on your Steam Deck is super easy! Just press and hold the Steam button, and you'll see a power menu. From there, choose 'Switch to Desktop' - and bam, you're on a full-fledged Linux desktop. Magic, right?

I think it's way simpler than people make it out to be. Just go into desktop mode by hitting the Steam button and selecting the option. Next thing you know, you'll be browsing the web or doing whatever you need on a desktop.

Honestly, just use it as is. The Steam Deck's built to be a gaming beast. Why bother with desktop mode when you've got all those games waiting?

I switched to desktop mode to do some work, thinking it'd be a hassle, but it was surprisingly smooth. Press the Steam button, select 'Switch to Desktop,' and you're all set. Worked on some docs and browsed the internet without any issues.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
