Sorry to burst the bubble, but you can't actually get a dog as a pet in GTA San Andreas. The game does feature dogs in the background environment, but there's no option to own or interact with them directly like you would in newer titles like GTA V. If you're really looking for some canine companionship in a game, GTA V might be more your speed with Chop!

No dogs for you in GTA San Andreas, my friend. Not in the same way as GTA V at least. But hey, you can always pretend one of those background dogs is yours!
