To get the Dye Trader to show up in Terraria, you gotta make sure you're holding at least one dye or a dye ingredient in your inventory. Seems like the guy has a sixth sense for colors or something. So, next thing you know, have a house ready for him to move into because no one likes to stand outside waiting, not even a colorful character like him.

Actually, it's all about showing him the colors! Hold any dye, dye ingredient, or even a Strange Plant, and he'll be knocking on your door. Well, figuratively speaking, since he needs an actual house in your world first.

You just need a dye or dye ingredient in your inventory. Make sure you have a vacant house, and he should show up. If he doesn't, try getting more dye stuff, he can't resist those.

The Dye Trader moves in when you've got a dye, dye ingredient, or Strange Plant in your inventory. Just make sure you've got an empty house for him. Simple as that.
