Just buy it from the Demolitionist after beating the Wall of Flesh. Easy peasy. You don鈥檛 have to go all Tarzan in the jungle.
Explosive Powder quest got me good. Spent hours in the jungle, thinking it was my unlucky day. Turns out, my game was glitched and after a restart, got the drops in less than 30 mins. So, if you're stuck, maybe try a reboot?
