I always survive just fine by looting the wasteland. Send out your dwellers with good gear and they'll bring back plenty of supplies. Sometimes, it鈥檚 easier than micromanaging those resource rooms.
Simply put, build a Diner for food and a Water Treatment for water. Assign dwellers with high Agility to the Diner and those with high Perception to the Water Treatment. The higher their corresponding stats, the more efficient they are at producing resources!
