Golden hearts, technically called Life Fruits, can be found in the Jungle biome after you've defeated any mechanical boss in Hardmode. These fruits increase your health permanently by 5 up to a maximum of 500hp. Just roam around the Underground Jungle, and you'll spot them glowing slightly. They can be kinda tricky to find, so bringing a Spelunker Potion might help you spot them easier!
Honestly, getting golden hearts is more about patience than anything. After smashing a mechanical boss, I just set up camp in the Jungle and farmed Life Fruits while watching a show on my second monitor. They glow, but it's a subtle glow, so keep your eyes peeled.
