Getting good weapons in Terraria is all about progression and a bit of luck! First off, dig deep and explore caves for chests that often contain weapons. Don't skip the Ice Biome; ice chests can have some powerful early-game weapons. As you defeat bosses, you'll also get access to stronger weapons, either directly from them or by using materials they drop to craft new ones. Keep an eye on the Goblin Tinkerer too, for you can buy a Tinkerer's Workshop and combine certain items to create something even better. Lastly, fishing can surprisingly net you some decent weapons, especially in the early to mid-game. It's a mix of exploring, fighting, and crafting!
Trust me, the best way to get good weapons is to join events, especially the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events. You'll need to prepare because they're tough, but the rewards are some of the best weapons in the game. Plus, it's a fun challenge!
