Green shards are also known as Vitus Essence. You can earn them by completing Arbitration missions, which unlock after you finish the entire Star Chart. Good luck!

I got my green shards primarily from Arbitrations. It's tough but totally worth it for the Vitus Essence. Just make sure your loadout is on point!
