Just mine Hellstone in the Underworld, combine it with Obsidian to make bars at a Hellforge, and boom, Imp Staff at an Anvil. You need 17 bars. Easy peasy.

Getting the Imp Staff in Terraria is all about diving into the underworld and embracing your inner miner. You'll need to collect Hellstone ore from the Underworld, which is no small feat since it's guarded by all sorts of fiery nasties. Once you've got 17 Hellstone Bars (you'll need Hellstone and Obsidian to make these at a Hellforge), you can craft the Imp Staff at an Anvil. This little fiery buddy will be your new best friend, throwing fireballs at your enemies!
